1. It is the policy of Theatre Arts Journal: Studies in Scenography and Performance to publish only original material, which has not been published elsewhere in any form or language. Authors will be notified within three to four months whether their submission has been accepted or not.
2. Articles submitted must be accessible to an interdisciplinary audience, that is, to scholars as well as to theatre practitioners. For clarity sake, it is advisable to avoid excessive jargon and submit the manuscript to a professional English-language editor for the necessary corrections before sending it to us.
3. Please obtain the copyright for the publication of the illustrations and/or quotations or video clips, and provide us a hard copy of the authorization as well as an electronic one.
4. Please send us also an abstract of 150-200 words and a short curriculum vitae indicating your present affiliation.
5. The manuscript should be double-spaced and no longer than 12,000 words. It should be prepared in conformity with the guidelines established in the Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition) and use Microsoft Word 2003 (or later) format for PC. Please use font Times New Roman, point size 12, and use double quotations marks (do not use single quotation marks).
6. The manuscript should include ENDNOTES (neither footnotes nor embedded notes). Note reference numbers in the text should come at the end of the sentence.
7. The author’s name, affiliation, and contact information should be included on a separate, unnumbered, page.
8. All details about the works, authors, or sources cited should be included in the endnotes. Please do not include a “Works Cited” list or a bibliography.
9. Illustrations should be in jpg format. Short video clips, of no more than 10 minutes, should be in FLV format.
